Creating Room for New Year's Goodness

Well.  Lots and lots of new ideas for projects whirling around in my pea brain these days.  I have a very, very good feeling about 2012, don't you?  And, to make room in my studio for some serious creativity come January 20th, I'm offering everything in my Etsy shop now at half-price.

Whatever you like: paintings, jewelry, stitchy goodness, doodads for journalling or gift tags...anything you might have been eyeing up to now, this is your chance, your ship has come in - that little treasure is half-price today!  Yay for you!

I'm de-stashing and clearing out to make room for all of my fun new ideas for the coming year.  And I am so, so excited to share it all with you in January, so be sure to check back here to see what I'm up to.  Too.Much.Fun.

If you find a special treasure or trinket over at the shop, just use the coupon code HAPPY2012 at checkout, and magically, the price will vanish by half.  Don't you love that?!

I'll run with this through January 20th.  Then, it's on to new projects.  Thanks for helping me clear some space in the studio!

Pre-Christmas Painting

I recently decorated our home for the holidays.  And I went all out this year...every stitch of Christmas kitsch I own is on the tree, on a surface, or on the wall.  I haven't felt this festive and jolly in years!  Seriously.  Don't know what little elf got into me, but I'm definitely channeling the exact opposite of The Grinch or Ebenezer Scrooge.

Our thermostat is in our foyer, in this little nook for a bench or chest.  Fine.  But why, oh why did the builders put it smack dab into the middle of the wall??

Throughout the year, I hang a painting right over it, which my sweet friend Linda painted for me.  With all the Christmas cheer set out on the antique stereo there, I decided I needed a painting that better reflected that jolly-ness.   So, I went up to my messymessymessy studio, blazed a trail to my paint table, throwing things on the floor so I could sit in my chair and work.

And I worked up the little painting above.  It sort of looks like our house (only ours is yellow and doesn't have polka dots or a green chimney, but other than that it's exactly like it - haha).  And now this hangs over that damn thermostat.  Fa la la.

So, here's hoping you're feeling the Christmas spirit and getting jolly at your house, too.

Seeing Beauty

...the song of the birds,
the scent of the flowers,

the laughter of the children,
the light of the sun,

the sighing of the wind,
and the gleam of the skies -

all the beauties of creation.

Announcing: STITCHED

We've been working on it for MONTHS and it's finally here!  I'm tickled pink to be one of 20 fabric artists teaching a variety of stitchery and sewing projects.

I'll be teaching "Heartstrings".  Happy, colorful hearts with lots of stitchy goodness and little treasures and baubles, all dangling from a string of yo-yo's and embellished felt beads.  Happy, happy, happy!  And the best part about these happy heartstrings is that you can make them from things you most likely already have in your crafty little area!  Recycling at it's finest!

Be sure to pop on over to the STITCHED website and take a look around.  Other stitchy topics include quilting, mixed media fiber art, accessories, paper piecing, embellishments and lots, lots more.

Registration starts today.  And the first 10 people to register for my "Heartstrings" class will win a $20 gift certificate to my Etsy shop!!
